Obama Visits This Palace While In Indonesia 2017

Just yesterday, Obama, the former USA's president came to this palace, to meet our president, Jokowi. The name of the palace is Bogor Palace.

It was established more than 250 years ago as Baron Von Imhoff, the Dutch East India Governor General decided to build a luxury mansion that was enable him to escape from the hot and crowded Batavia (currently known as Jkaarta). The place was called as "buitemzorg" or "the place without worry" showing how we was overwhelmed by the quietness of the city in the past (not now).

The Palace is not Indonesia formal president residence. Most of Indonesia presidents prefer to stay in Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, or in other places. However, current present Mr Joko Widodo, probably feels that the air of Bogor is fresher in Jakarta and also the landscape of the palace itself should be able to relax him after busy days. Therefore, he chose the Palace as his resident.

Bogor Palace has been known to have a wide collections of arts. More than 300 statue and another 300 paintings are kept in the palace. It has also more than 800 white spotted deer (Axis Axis) living in its front yard. Uncountable birds and also frogs (hey.. our president also enjoy seeing and listening to this animal sound here).

Mr Obama is not the only person who recently was invited to come to the palace, the leader of Saudi Arabia, King Salman, was also met and greeted here few months back.
