Indonesia Has Also A Giant Sleeping Buddha Statue

Not only Thailand who has big statues of Buddha. The religion has entered Indonesia from many centuries ago. Therefore, it is also quite easy to find artifact that show the adaptation of the culture in Indonesian society.

It doesn't have to travel too far from the Capital of Indonesia, Jakarta to see about this. In Parung District, the Regency of Bogor, there is a giant sleeping Buddha statue.

It is big and considered one of the biggest Buddha statue in Indonesia. The length is more than 15 meters and with around 5 meter in height. The statue sits in 8 Po Sat Temple.

The statue is not ancient, yet. It was developed at the end of 1900's.
