A Toddler Lost Her Thumb After Being Attacked By An Ape Parents blamed administrator

A toddler, 1.5 years old, named Aisyah lost her thumb after a "siamang" (gibbon)'s grabbed her from cage gap, Saturday, July the 1st, 2017. The incident happened in Kebun Rojo Zoo, Blitar City, West Java. She was taken immediately to a nearest hospital to get a treatment.

It was not known how the toddler can approach the cage so close that the animal with scientific name Symphalangus Syndactilus could reach her. No report mentioned also about whereabout of the toddler's parents or whether she was being toted by them or not.

As reported in many newspaper, the administrator has put a warning placard to remind visitors to keep safe distance from the cages. The siamang placed here were wild animals and can cause harm.

Aisyah's parents blamed the administrator of the zoo for being careless and didn't put separator that can prevent visitors from getting too close to the cage.

However, many netizens thought differently as the kid was really young and she wouldn't get so close with the cage without having a help from older persons. Besides, many thinks that the parents were the ones to blame as they were so reckless with their kid and ignored the warning from the administrator.

My opinion? Well, it is always the duty for parents to keep children from danger, especially in public area like zoo, especially a toddler. The parents were definitely careless in this case. What made it worse, they tried to find a scapegoat for their carelessness.

No doubt.
