Not Poison Ivy ! Just How A Bottled Tea Company Promotes Their New Product

Not poisin ivy. Definitely, even though I am not a botanist but I can guarantee that it is that famous poisonous plant species. So, you shouldn't be afraid.

What I meant that, if you have a chance to come to my country, Indonesia and travel in the Greater Jakarta using a commuter train, you may find something quite different inside the trains. The look is like vines on handrails.

You can see at the above picture.

Why I am so sure it is not poison ivy is because the vines are plastic. No doubt about that.

Since few years ago, the administrator of Indonesia Commuter Train Company has decided to improve the income by providing spaces for advertisements. The space is not only on the body of the train but also inside the passenger cabin.

One of Indonesia's food and drink company, PT ABC (Llc) found that commuters were potential market for their new product, a bottled tea with new taste called Nu Ice Tea. They also found that to attract attention of passengers were not easy. A simple advertisement card might not work.

I am not sure from where the idea came from, perhaps from seeing that train handrails are similar to bamboo stick often that is often used in Indonesia to grow vines, any types. Also, not certain if this unique advertisement is effective or not in increasing their sales.

However, for sure, this "vines" advertisement catches attention of many passengers. It is difficult not to be attracted by it because the "leaves" often touch your hand and the "fruit" , the model of bottled teas lightly knock our head, especially when the train driver hit the brake.
