Anti Ahok shows disgusting racism method used in Indonesia

Disgusted. Annoyed. Angry.

That's what many people felt recently seeing the development of situation near to Jakarta's governor election. I am included.

It is not because they are the supporters of a man whose original name is Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. Most of the people are not the Capital of Indonesia's citizens, Many of them live in the provinces, like me who live in Bogor, West Java.

Such feeling can not be avoided seeing the facts that many people use indecent method to stop the incumbent to regain the post. Finding it is difficult to find the mistakes of the guy, the oppositions starts to black campaign using religion as the basis of their attacks.

Indonesia, as well as Jakarta, is dominated by moslems, Islam believers. More than 80% of its population are the believer of this religion, me included. There is one verse in its holy book, Qoran that mentions that moslems should choose a leader from their own circle and must not find them from the infidels or unbelievers.

Since Ahok is Christian, based on the Islamic belief, he is not eligible to be chosen as a leader.

This verse of Qoran has been spread widely on social media these days to prevent the guy from regain the post. Even from the ones who don't live in Jakarta that are not eligible to give a vote. Even a student from Indonesia University launched a video with a title "Reject Ahok".

The perpretator has hidden behind a constitution clause that allows public speaking freedom and consider the act as missionary endeavour instead of politics or act racism. They want to encourage moslems that for sure do not have a courage to stand against their God's command.

If this is realized, then it will give benefits to Ahok's competitors.

Indonesia's laws say it clearly that ethnic, race or religion are not factors to be considered for someone to be assigned for a post in government structure. The attacks blatantly shows that they choose religion to manipulate majority of the voters in Indonesia that are moslems.

Furthermore, the good performance of the guy as a governor has got appraisal from most of people. He is considered to be very capable to run the wheel of Jakarta's government. He showed he was not afraid to against any corruptive ideas and pushed his staffs to serve people betters. His policies are often not popular but they made Jakarta better than before.

So, actually there is no reason for him not to be given another chance to rule the Big Durian, Jakarta's nickname. There is almost no flaws in his way ruling the city, except one thing.

He is not moslem.

That's it.
