A father offering his prematurely born baby for 39 million rupiahs
A father in Makassar City, South Sulawesi, is offering his prematurely born baby as he can not afford to pay the delivery bills.
On his open letter, he said that whoever could help him to pay the bill can take the right of the baby girl named Faradiba Auliyah Khumairah. The amount of the bill is around 39 million rupiahs (US$ 3,200 with current exchange rate)
The baby was prematurely born on 17th September 2016 and until now is still in incubator to stabilize her condition.
The father said that he gave up and declared his inability to pay for the increasing cost of her daughter's special treatment.
He told that he once tried to register his baby to Indonesia National Health Insurance (BPJS) when it was not born but it was in vain as the age of the fetus didn't yet reach the requirement of 7 months old.
Sad story.
