Worrying! Thousands of Lecturers Didn"t Pass Certification Due To 'Copy Paste"

I am worried. Embarrassed as well.

This morning, I read one news on detik.com, famous Indonesian news online website. It was about the Lecturer Certification Program held by Indonesian government.

The program is purposed to make sure that all lecturers and teachers meet the required standards. This is the way to make sure there will be improvement in Indonesia education.

To pass the certification and obtain lecturer or teacher certificate, all must do written presentation about themselves, some examination, and writing papers.

Unfortunately, the news told me a shocking fact.

Thousands of lecturers from various academy and university didn't get through. More than 1,500 lectures from 4,500 lectures joining the 1st wave of certification are considered fail.

What made the news becoming worse that they didn't get certified due to one specific reason, "copy paste", or in short cheating.

This is really embarrassing and worrying.

I can understand if some lecturers can not pass the certification. It is even expected. However, to read that they are not certified for "copy-paste", it triggered bleak pictures about Indonesia education future.

If the persons who should be the source of knowledge and teaching attitude to Indonesian students do such shameful attitude, what can we expect from people who learn from them. Another cheating and corruptive mentality persons?

No, we don't need that.

Indonesia has already too much. No more, please.

Even if we have to sacrifice the 1.500 lectures, then we must take the risk. To get rid of them may cause a problem of having not enough lecturers in some university or academy, but it will be better than to have ten thousands with cheating mentality.

Enough is enough. Embarrassing and worrying.
