The Mobile Shoe Repairer

The above picture represents a traditional way of how shoes are repaired in Indonesia. A traditional one, I said because recently, in this era, people tend to dispose their shoes when they find small damage on it. They don't even give a try to fix it than buying new ones.

Shoes have been more reachable these days causing people to think about new ones than trying to repair them.

Usually this mobile shoe repairer brings two small boxes on his shoulder. Each of the box contains repairing tools such as needle, scissors, glue, as well as sewing yarn and also some shoe soles. He walks among housing complex to find anyone who needs his service.

The service cost will be negotiated on the spot. if it is agreed, he may then immediately pull out his tools from the boxes and start working.

It is quite interesting to see how his workmanship to fix a damaged shoe. It takes only  20-30 minutes depending on how severe the damages on the shoes.
