Energy Minister Dimissed After Only 20 Days For Having Double Passport
His tenure as a minister was the shortest in Indonesia history.
His dismissal had no relation with his capability to carry out the duty as the head of very important ministry. He was discharged by a reason that might cause people laugh in bewilderment.
The reason was because few days after his appointment, it was found that Arcandra was a USA Passport holder.
The Indonesia immigration laws clearly prohibit any Indonesians to hold another country citizenship. The Indonesian Citizenship owned by someone is automatically cnsidered cancelled once he acquired another country's passport.
The case has been the headline for Indonesia media for the last few days.
Indonesians baffled by the facts that the government seemed not doing their homework to check the background of a person before assigning him or her to a position.
